Haryana has made visible progress in the field of primary, secondary, higher secondary and higher education.
School Education in Haryana
In April 1979, SCERT was set up which was a strategic effort on their part of the state government to make school education available to am maximum number of children, especially the poor ones.
Statistics (2004-2005) have revealed that 32 primary schools, 101 high schools and 69 middle schools were upgraded to middle schools, senior secondary schools and high schools respectively.
More schools are being set up. There is 1 Senior Secondary school every 3 square kilometres.
Higher Education in Haryana
Haryana accounts for some of the best Engineering and Technology schools in the country! NIT, Maharishi Dayanand University, Kurukshetra University, Guru Jambheshwar University are just a few of them.
Besides this, the state has a number of reputed colleges that offer course (Certificate, Diploma, Graduate and Post Graduate) in the fields of Management, Hotel Management, Engineering Sciences, Medicine, Dental Sciences, agriculture and many more!
Haryana is home to the National Dairy Research Institute that provides education in the discipline of dairy sciences. It has now been upgraded and is a full-fledged deemed university now.
