The Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) are graduate business schools in the India.
IIM in India also conducts various research as well as offer consultancy services in many management fields to the Indian economy sectors. The IIM in India was created by the Government of India in order to identify the brightest academic talent available in India.
The IIMs play a vital role in managing the manpower development as well as research in various fields. Besides this, the institutions are recognised as the premier management institutions and are compared to the best in the world.

There are 7 IIM’s in India, which are IIM Ahmadabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Indore, IIM Lucknow, IIM Kozhikode and IIM Shillong.
The IIMs are considered as the top business schools in the nation and all the IIMs are completely autonomous. These institutes are owned as well as financed by the Central Government of India.
The CAT exam conducted by the IIMs is a competitive examination i.e. conducted for admitting around 1250 graduate programs at all the seven campuses and is considered as one of the most competitive exams of the world.
23 percent of seats are reserved for Scheduled castes and tribes, whereas rest are for the general category.
