COMPETITIVE EXAMINATIONS
The Competitive examinations in India are held in order to recruit the appropriate candidates in various public sector organisations.
The merit is not the only criteria that are employed in the process of selection.
Reservation seats of the Competitive Examinations
In most of the competitive examinations held in India for various jobs, have a reserved quota of 7.5 percent for the Scheduled tribe (ST) candidates, 15 percent for the Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates and 27 percent seats are reserved for the Other Backward Classes (OBC).
The Supreme Court of India has made a rule that not more than 50 percent seats should be reserved in any Competitive exam.
The competitive exams are not just functioning as a process of recruitment, but also as useful measures of elevating the social justice. The candidates from all- over the nation can compete for the available seats and stand a chance of being getting selected.
Procedure
In order to get a job in various fields like Indian Army, Indian Air Force, Indian Navy or any other civil service or organisation, a candidate has to clear the applicable competitive exam.
The eligibility criteria for different exams differ and it can be held at different time of the year.
